Church of Sinai is a wing of Shelter Ministries, it's a non-denominational Christian church situated at a village called Sithalapakkam which is located 25kms away from the city of Chennai. It is a place where people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey are accepted. Everyone regardless of age, race, abilities & economic status are welcome to our church. We are passionate about helping people to reconnect with God and seeing their lives transformed. On Sundays we meet for worship (which is an integral part of every service) and a solid teaching and preaching of the word of God is given preference at the church. We desire to be the church that is Christ built. The services are conducted in the local language (Tamil). "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20).

Our Church offers a variety of ministries that helps the involvement of the congregation in the activities of the Church much more effectively. The growth of the Church is seen in the love and spiritual maturity of the congregation.

Prayer Groups: When you join with God in prayer, you not only extend God's healing hand and the truth to others, but also receive it yourself in that moment. Our church encourages prayers groups. We offer a place for everyone to come together in prayer on every Mondays.

Care Cell Groups: During every Thursday we meet in small groups in home. We build relationships with the non Christian families in our neighbourhood. In the process of loving them and praying for them we also learn to love those who are either unbelievers or people that have strayed off the Christian walk.

Bible Study: Bible alone is our source of faith and we strive to practice it. As our understanding of the Bible increases, the relationship with God is deepens. In order to enrich the biblical knowledge of the congregation regular bible study is conducted during the week.

Sunday School: The Sunday school is conducted concurrently during the time of Sunday church service. We conduct various Christian Bible Activities to help keep the kids interested as they learn and grow spiritually.

Special Services:
Every third Sunday of the month is celebrated as the Women’s Sunday where the whole service is lead by the women.
Every last Sunday of the month is celebrated as the Youth’s Sunday where the whole service is lead by the youth.
This helps both the women and youths to involve much more efficiently in the church and expose their God given talents in singing, leading the praise and worship, sharing the word of God etc.

Bible Test
A regular monthly bible test is conducted for the youths of our church to test their biblical knowledge.. A rolling trophy is also awarded to the winner of the month. This helps and encourages the youths to read the bible.

Special Meetings/Convention: The Church doesn’t limit with the service schedule, and it’s also make use of the government holidays to cheer-up and enhance the spiritual knowledge of the congregation by conducting special 2/3 days convention, one day special meetings. Yearly Gospel Meetings are also conducted.

Church Retreats: A church retreat is an opportunity to bring individuals to the Lord, have a lot of fun, and form a community of friendships among youth groups, kids and elders. We conduct retreats to help people bond together as friends. And many events, sports and games are conducted as they are also good opportunities to bring the people deeper into a relationship with the Lord. We provide a venue to teach new things in a safe environment.

Seminars/ Training: In order to support the congregation to grow deeper in knowledge and understanding of God and the Bible we conduct various seminars. We have conducted the following seminars:

The Church concentrates on the second-line leadership and conducts various training for the leaders of the church in order to do the ministry more effectively. Special training on Children ministry is conducted and raises many youths to do the children ministry.

Church Planting – Our Daughter Churches: We believe people produce people, Christians produce Christians and churches should produce churches. Now is the time to plant more and better churches! Now is the time for existing churches to multiply and reap the harvest fields around them. Church planting is proven to be the most effective form of evangelism. Therefore we have planted two daughter churches. One in Dharapuram (Erode District) and another in Andimadam village (Perambalur District). There’s always an intimate relationship between mother church & daughter church planters.
